Renaissance Festival

Jessica goes to the Renaissance Festival!
On Wednesday February 18th, Jessica and I went to the
Renaissance Festival with the Highland High School
Drama Class. It was a great day, in the high 60's.
We took school Busses to the Festival and spent about
four hours there. It was fun to see all the charaters and
watch the show. The food is good there also. They have
Turkey legs and bread bowl with soup. They sell all
sorts of things. This year I got warm chashews, Yum.
Jessica and I had a nice day and enjoyed the Festival.

Happy 50th Anniversary!
Today February 13th, 50 years ago these two love birds
got married. Its hard to believe that fifty years has
gone by. They had a small ceremony in a house
in Stites Idaho. I think moms dress was beautiful.
Dad looks so cute in his suit. I know its been a
long road to this point. Kids are not easy as you know.
Life is also not easy. But these two remarkable people
made it through hard times and good.
I am honored to be their daughter.
Happy 50th Anniversary Mom and Dad.
If I could i would make you a heart cake with red hots!

50th Wedding Anniversary

So here is what I have been up to theses last few weeks.
I have been working with my famly to plan
a 50 wedding Anniversary reception for my parents.
Yes, 50 years, Wow.
We are having the reception Friday, March 20.
It is going to be held in Ephrata at the Ivy Chapel.
Planning the reception has been so much fun. I guess
I need the practice, with 2 girls growing up so fast.
There will be receptions to plan with them someday.
It is nice to be able to do something for the people
who have given so much for all of us.
They are such great parents.

Peek a Boo I see you.
Becca called me yesterday and said I should go to the
BYU-I web side and look on the web cams. She was at the
Manwearing center getting a slushie with her friend Cami.
So Jessica and I found the Camara and there she was.
It was so good to see her. I could not believe she was
getting a slushie, Its like getting hot chocolate in Arizona
in the summer. Weird. But she said they were good.
So her is Becca on the web cam. We wanted to share with
everyone.

had it for a few months, but today, Tuesday, January 20th, 2009
is the first day we used it. Steve did such a great job on the
counter he built. It was so fun to finely use it.

Blinds

New Blinds!!
So, Finely after almost 11 years I got new blinds for
my downstairs windows. They are the 2" faux wood
blinds. I love them so much. It really makes a
difference. The old ones looked like something you
would find in the Dr. Office. But no more.

I leave the blind up a bit during the day so Max can
sit in the window and get warm.

Our Idaho Trip

Our Idaho Trip
Our trip up to Idaho went great! We had clear
roads all the way up and back. We had a little rain
going up when we crossed into idaho. But for the most
part it was smooth sailing. The way home was also clear
Steve had a couple of miles across the mountains
south of Beaver Utah. Also on Monday through
Flagstaff there was wet roads. They had gotten
snow on Sunday, so the roads were clear by
Monday. We were very blessed to have such
a smooth trip to get becca up to Idaho. I am
very thankful for all the prayers that were said for
us. Please continue to pray for Rebecca as
she now is on her own.
I feel like a mother bird that has let her little bird
fly from the nest. Fly little bird fly. You have
been prepared for this. you will be a great Bird
and Fly up, up, up. We will miss you, and look
forward to your return.
The road at Flagstaff

The beautiful snow. So nice to look at but not live in.

Jessica is so happy to be an only child.

This is the Rexburg Temple. It is a few blocks from

it sits on the hill.

Rebecca to Idaho

Rebecca goes to BYU-I
On January 1st we left Arizona to take Rebecca to
Rexburg Idaho. She will be attending BYU-Idaho
this winter and spring semesters.
We had a great trip. The roads were clear and we had
great weather too. It was very cold in Idaho. I think
the high on Saturday was 14 degrees. But it was
sunny and clear so what more could you ask for.
Saturday morning we arrived at Becca's new apartment
to check in. She was able to pick what room she wanted.
There are 6 girls in her apartment. Her roommates
name is Hannah. She is from Idaho Falls.
The apartment is right across the street from campus.
one of her classes is in the building across the street.
she is very close to the laundry and not far from the
lounge and computer room.
We were able to get her all set up in her apartment.
she had plenty of food and had all her stuff put away.
her room is so cute.
Welcome to Idaho!

Rebecca's Apartment is on the bottom right.

We baught a curtain to cover the closet.
It is much nicer to look at.

The living room.

Grammie made the quilt for her bed. It is so beautiful.

Celebrating my 100th post!

I have really enjoyed my blog and being able to keep all my
friends and family up to date on what we have been
doing during the year. From the happy stuff like
Becca graduation to the sad stuff like my
beloved Tiger passing on. I am so glad that I can keep
everyone close to us by sharing our lives. I hope the
next 100 posts will be entertaining and interesting so
you will all keep coming back. With Becca going to school
in Idaho, I hope to have some cool posts. get it cool like
lots of snow and cold temps. so here is to the next 100 posts,
may they be even more exciting the the first 100. For Teresa,
I will try to write more words. As she knows
I prefer pictures to words.
A picture is worth a thousand words.

Christmas Eve Party

Christmas Eve Party 2008

Its party time again. Yes we had a great party this year
we had about 27 people show up this year.
It was fun to have so many friends and family join us.
Once again the food was so good. The Giant shrimp
were the favorite.

The Food!

The Pinata this year was the shape of a Christmas ornament.
last year Jeff destroyed the pinata on his first try.
So I was determined to make one this year
that would last long enough for everyone to get
at least one turn. So I put on 4 layers of newspaper,
masking tape, then the tissue paper layer. let me tell you that
puppy was strong. Everyone got at least 3 turns.
finely Jeff and Joey destroyed it. Even Josh go in the act.
there is a video showing how he really gave it a few
wackes. The only thing I can advise about the
pinata, is to not put candy necklaces in it.
when it finely broke, the necklaces were in a thousand
pieces. Although the tootsie rolls survived in tack.

Jessica taking a turn.

Jeff trying to kill my Pinata,
Joey Legger takes a turn, No luck!

Josh, can he do it.
NO way.

Swing Josh
Uncle Steve being silly with the Pinata
Look at all those gifts, There were some silly ones.
like the Moon Sand, scooby do DVD. We had lots of candy
Hot chocolate, even homemade cookies.

Grants turn to pick a gift.

We had a pretty good crowd this year for our game.
We also had Cherry Cheese pie and read the
Christmas story before everyone went home.
Thanks to everyone who attended.
